It is the first professional art learning school for youth and teenagers in Los Angeles. The main institute is located in Temple City, greater Los Angeles area and was founded in 1996. Now it has 5 branches across the U.S.

OUR MISSION

With the lead of the famous artist, educator and our founder Professor Jianxin Zhao, US Fine Art Eduction Center initiated the educational idea that “applying art to education and raise future elites in society”. For the first time the way of kids learning art was changed. Instead of drawing randomly from either home or after-school classes, kids started to have a systematic art leaning in art class.

After many years of research, US Fine Art Education Center initiated the exclusive CTA (Comprehensive Training in Art) art education system, which fulfills our modern education development. Students from 3 years old all the way till high school, are given clear periodical aim during each stage. This high quality art education has won multiple global awards. It becomes a competence education helps thousands of kids grow up.

Over 20 years, there have been over 7,000 students who grow up under the CTA teaching system. Kids came here since they were 3 or 4 years old. About Our Founder

Professor Jianxin Zhao

Professor Jianxin Zhao studied under outstanding faculties of the China Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, specializing in Gongbi Figure Painting, and attained considerable achievement and recognition for her work. Her series of national award winning paintings “Endless Thought before Marriage”, “Elegant”, and “Joyful” have been chosen to be a part of the permanent collection of the National Art Museum of China, and received much critical acclaim.

Since 1982, Prof. Zhao has been engaged in Fine Arts education in universities. During her 15 years of teaching, many of her students went on to become national painters, doctoral supervisors, and principals of art academies, etc.

In 1996, she immigrated to the United States, and started a whole new chapter of her life-long pursuit and built “US Fine Art Education Center” in greater Los Angeles area. Since then, for the first time the way of kids learning art was changed. Instead of drawing randomly from either home or after-school
classes, kids started to have a systematic art learning in art class. US Fine Art Education Center became the first standard youth art learning institution in Los Angeles, U.S.

When Professor Jianxin Zhao first built US Fine Art Education Center, she raises 5 basic guiding concepts on art education. With the idea of “educating innovative talents through art”, our curriculum plan turns art education theory into practical:

1. The art education and techniques education are related;
2. The purpose of teaching students art is not about the artwork itself but the individuals in our classroom.
3. Each level of teaching method has to be scientific and objective and eventually realize the ultimate outcomes.
4. Bring creativity to each student’s basic training.
5. Emphasize the teaching standard of basic knowledge as well as the techniques.

Through consistent, systematic training, U.S. Fine Art Education Center helps students to gain extraordinary thoughts, ambition, confidence, and to become a future elite in our society. We are dedicated to enlightening students through art cultivation and innovative thinking, and to moving our students forward with confidence. We incorporate the idea of “talent incubation” into CTA students’ curriculum—painting, designing, handcrafting, clay modeling, art appreciation, outdoor projects, etc. Our goal is to unify art perception and drawing techniques.

Because of the special educational concepts and pursuit, after a long persistent study, Professor Jianxin Zhao and her elite faculty team developed an unprecedented “CTA” (Comprehensive Training in Art) art education system. Her contribution signifies the new education mode and concept for youth art education. Thus, under the lead of Prof. Zhao, US Fine Art Education Center has become a famous educational brand in international platform.

Our History

1996

It was the first time youth art learning process had been changed. Instead of casual after-school drawing class, US Fine Art Education Center provided a professional systematic learning experience and established the first professional youth fine art school in Los Angeles. With the lead of Principal Jianxin Zhao, we believe the core value in art education is to cultivate innovative talents.

 

1998
Adopted western and eastern advantages in art education; combined an innovative art perspective.

built a scientific school system; the most powerful proof of “the best education”. This means: building a scientific teaching management system, which includes high standard faculty employment, systematic curriculum, teacher training process, teacher management, student management, students tests policies, class level arrangement, etc. By building such professional system, US Fine Art Education Center established an advanced position in art education filed—art class should never be a short-term and profit-driven activity

 

1999

• School spent all possible resources on developing innovative art education system in order to provide the best
education for students. The idea of CTA started ever since and later has received multiple international rewards.

• The first time our graduate students were admitted by top universities and many were offered high amount of
scholarship because of their excellent portfolios. This was also the first time that our special portfolio teaching
plan was validated.

2000
Established a partnership with UCLA to research and develop youth fine art education.

US Fine Art Education Center was selected by UCLA special research team for our outstanding achievement. Then this team studied and developed youth art education together ever since.

2001
Applied “Teachers Qualification System”.

This includes hiring new teachers, training process and test policies, as well as teachers retraining and promotion tests, etc. US Fine Art Education Center spares no expense on teachers’ employment. This is the premise of good quality teaching. Even a college professor still needs to pass a strict process of interviewing, training and selection. Each year our teachers need to take retraining process and pass tests to make improvement. As a teacher in US Fine Art Education Center, we ask teachers to have research ability to learn the most advanced studies in art education and develop innovative curriculum.

2002
The birth of CTA (Comprehensive Training in Art)

· After years of studying and developing, CTA initiative teaching plan was established in 2002. The aim was to rebuild after-school art class by adopting advanced education theories and science.
· Curriculum are edited based on different age range and skill level. We make plans for every single class from age 3 to 18. Same as physical development in kids, we have to provide what they need. It is the golden rule for youth psychologists and youth fine art educators.
· Teaching supervision system was fully developed. This guarantees classes in here are all under CTA system.

2002
Annual Registration System marks a turning point in systematic instructions.

After several years of studying, students in US Fine Art Education Center have shown outstanding academic performance. This earns a great reputation for US Fine Art Education Center. Parents spread the words and soon more and more students come to learn art. Since then we started our annual registration system to make long-term teaching plans. This long-term plan pushed art education to a new next level to meet the goal of developing creativity and intellectual through art.

 

2003
Established annual Advancement Test system

From annual tests, grades to class arrangement, it takes lots of efforts to prepare “level class”. We arrange similar age and same level students to one class. This provides students with a better learning environment. This systematic training is better for students to develop their skills more quickly.

2004
Published the First Annual Art book Featuring a Selection of Outstanding Student Artworks

Art Book in US Fine Art is an annual art book that records students learning process and gives students encouragement. Since 2014, every edition we published is highly appreciated by students and parents. It is immeasurable to have the book published– — started from photograph, followed by editing in many details such as adjusting colors, brightness, contrast, and layout design; then during process, there are lots of tedious and complicated works that is time and financial resource consuming, and our teachers devote their own time for the book. Our original students art book is still exclusive in art learning field.

2004
Elite Youth Program Formed

American elites program education studies started since the end of 19 th century. Total 46 out of 50 states have been applying such program. US Fine Art Education Center gathered all education resources and developed “Young Elites Program”. We arrange special teaching plans and class level for honor students. Young Elites Program started showing result after 10 years of training. Students who enrolled in ourprogram are regularly admitted to country’s top universities like Harvard or MIT. Most of them receive full or high amount of scholarships.

 

2005
Special Summer Classes

Summer essential classes are important component to CTA program. CTA system covers drawing, designing, handcrafting, clay, art appreciation, outdoor nature sketching, etc. US Fine Art Education Center is unifying drawing techniques with student’s unique art perspective. Our faculty team developed summer essential classes to help students optimize their knowledge with creative thinking and art appreciation. This improves students learning ability and practical use in art, which will definitely help their academic work as well.

2006

Multi-media Teaching Methods

US Fine Art Education Center started adopting all advanced technology when many other art institutions were still teaching in a traditional way. Not only we keep updating our teaching courseware, but also our students’ data system and class presentation effects. Multi-media teaching method inspires students interests, broadens their view, stimulates the brain and actives imagination. Students therefore can freely express their thoughts through different means. US Fine Art Education Center is willing to put in all the efforts as long as it is good for students personal development.

2007- CTA Open House Sessions

CTA students in US Fine Art Education Center all have great accomplishment and study in top universities. Soon parents spread the words and want to know better about CTA. Therefore we started to offer CTA illustration session and it is welcomed by students and parents. It is hard to find a good art teaching system to meet kids develop needs. Once parents find CTA, it doesn’t matter how far away they live, they want to get enrolled immediately.

2012- CTA Open House Sessions

US Fine Art Education Center’s systematic teaching results verified CTA’s prospective value. US Fine Art Education Center was no longer just a local art school but an international institution that recognized by China and the US.

2014
Professor Zhao attends United Nations and APEC summits

Because of the CTA education system’s massive success and glowing reputation, Professor Zhao is invited to participate in the United Nations Business and Professional Women International Summit, as well as the APEC Summit as their sole youth fine art education representative.

2016
US Fine Art Education Center Celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Principal Jianxin Zhao and her team have devoted themselves to provide the best art education for youth for the past 20 years. On our 20th anniversary, local political leaders such as US Congress Woman Judy Chu, LA county Supervisor Michael Antonovich, as well as Mayor from 8 different local cities presented awards of recognition to Professor Zhao as “Outstanding Educator”.
